ache.

{ferrier, haiti. march 2008.}
we all ache. its a deep, hollow, expanse of hurt.
and we're not even there.
we. are. worlds. away.
and this world doesn't seem to need
any more disconnected reflections right now.

{ferrier, haiti. march 2008.}
you won't find one here. just some ache in the bones.
i have been leaning on a mantra found here
and the beautiful people here and here and here.

{if God is with the suffering, where are we?}

Philanthropy is commendable, but it must not cause the
philanthropist to overlook the circumstances of
economic injustice which make philanthropy necessary

new year, less us.

talks of the neeeeeeeeew {channel a daunting, spooky tone} year somehow instantly invite overprojected proposals, overestimations of energy, and impending doom. okay, that's a little dramatic, but you're picking up what i'm putting down, right? for example, i'd like to think that i really did write a letter every week in 2009 like i had resolved, but that's only relatively true if signing my name on my debit card receipts count.

instead of falling prey to the seduction of the advertising world's {or your own!}  new year/new you gimmicks, why not leave something behind, instead? fear of economic instability, blaming yourself or others for you-forgot-what, a nasty little habit, a tendency towards resentment... whatever it is, may the wayside engulf it and our journey into 2010 start off a little lighter.
