CREATOR GOD OF MANY NAMES, SPIRIT OF LIFE,
we pray for the ongoing ecological devastation in the Gulf of Mexico.
We pray not only for those participating in the cleaning effort and

for those whose livelihoods are affected by this disaster, but
also for ourselves. We confess our addictions to
unhealthy, unsustainable lifestyles, and our
failure to properly steward your creation
and protect your creatures. Forgive
us our trespasses, and remind us
 that the earth is yours and all that
is in it, the world and all that
live in it.
